Backed by Singapore’s celebrated band The Stylers, the Chopstick Sisters’ 1977 release serves up Chinese-language pop with a theatrical streak. Love songs share space with comic dialogue and exchanges between the two singers, making this twelve-track set as much a variety show as a pop album. Led by “好伴侶” and “進城歌,” it brings romance and humour together with an irresistible sense of entertainment. Another rewarding detour through The Stylers’ extensive backing-band catalogue.
