AJL Band’s 1976 album brings together soul, funk and Latin favourites from disco’s formative years. Taking its title from the Ohio Players’ “Sweet Sticky Thing,” the eight-track selection also includes Labelle’s “Lady Marmalade,” KC & The Sunshine Band’s “That’s the Way (I Like It)” and People’s Choice’s “Do It Any Way (You Wanna),” alongside “Classical Salsa” and “Hi-Jack.” Produced by the band, with arrangements by Ador Guerzo and Jeremiah Star, it offers a varied programme of mid-1970s dance music interpreted through cover versions.
