Released in 1977, Julie Remie’s Engkau Sinar Hidup Ku is a Malay-language pop album arranged and produced by S. Atan. Its twelve tracks include the title song, “Menari Bersama,” “Kehilangan Dewi Ilham Ku” and “Terkenang Dikau,” composed by Ahmad Nawab. Remie also contributes lyrics to many of the selections, adding a personal dimension to the repertoire. Themes of love, solitude and waiting for a loved one’s return place the album within the romantic tradition of 1970s Malay pop.
