Arranged and conducted by Oscar Young, this 1979 release brings together disco excitement and familiar pop melodies. Dan Hartman’s “Instant Replay,” Wild Cherry’s “Play That Funky Music” and Chic’s “Le Freak” sit alongside the Bee Gees’ “How Deep Is Your Love” and “Tragedy.” Billy Joel’s “Just the Way You Are” and the Eagles’ “Hotel California” broaden the selection beyond the dancefloor. A snapshot of the era’s hit parade, combining disco, funk and mellow pop through the repertoire of Oscar & His Orchestra.
